The Bill seeks to repeal the Energy Commission of Nigeria Act Cap E10, Laws of The Federation of Nigeria 2004, abolish the Energy Commission of Nigeria and transfer its functions to the Federal Ministry of Power to give effect to the recommendation of the Presidential Committee on Restructuring and Rationalization of Federal Government Parastatals, Commissions and Agencies to dissolve or merge Agencies with overlapping/duplicating functions to reduce the cost of governance.
